What is Birmingham Obstetrics & Gynecology?
Birmingham Obstetrics & Gynecology is an obstetrics and gynecology practice first. Its main work is women's health care: well woman visits, prenatal care and delivery, gynecologic surgery, and mammography. What does it cost?
The published price is $200 for the initial consultation, then $125 per month plus medication. The monthly fee does not include the medication. That price comes from a 2025 summer program offer, so confirm it is still current. The practice does not publish prices for hormone therapy.
On insurance, the practice says program fees are usually eligible for HSA or FSA dollars, and lab work can be billed to insurance when plans allow. It does not say whether it accepts insurance in general, so ask before you assume it does.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription and who adjusts your dose. The only prescriber named for the program is David McKee, Jr., MD.
Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. The 2025 offer described compounded tirzepatide, while a disclaimer on the practice's blog says it does not sell compounded versions. Get the answer in writing, and ask what the medication costs each month on top of the $125.
Ask what labs and follow-up visits cost beyond the program fee, and how cancellation works. The program materials say doses can be paused for up to two weeks, but they do not describe cancellation terms.
For hormone therapy, ask for the price before your first visit, since none is published. Ask whether any visits can be done by video, because the practice does not say. Finally, ask which office you would be seen at, since the Trussville and Hoover addresses are not published.

This is a good fit if you already see an OB/GYN in Birmingham, Trussville or Hoover, want weight care and hormone therapy from the same practice, and can pay the monthly fee and medication yourself. If you are looking for peptide or longevity care, or you need video visits or a current hormone therapy price, call first.
