What is Clava Health?
Clava Health is mainly a functional medicine and longevity practice. Dr. Ryan Arnold, MD, is its founder and medical director, and the only prescriber the clinic names. Dr. Arnold opened the Thousand Oaks office in 2022. The clinic also lists offices in Solvang and Montecito, and in 2023 it expanded into Santa Barbara with Clava Health Longevity Lab. Google lists it as a doctor, with a rating of 3.5 from 19 reviews.
Its services fall into several groups. Under IV and advanced therapies it offers peptide therapy, NAD+ Therapy, Glutathione Push, hyperbaric oxygen, infrared sauna and several IV drips. It also offers diagnostic testing, ExoMind, EMSella and EMSculpt Neo devices, and the MindSpan Program, which it calls its flagship longevity program. Of the usual cash-pay categories (weight loss, hormone therapy, peptide therapy and longevity medicine), it clearly offers peptide therapy and longevity medicine. It does not list weight loss or hormone therapy. Telehealth visits cover health assessments, prescription refills and symptom evaluation. In its own words: "Prevention is the new emergency."
What does it cost?
The clinic publishes single-session prices as starting points: Glutathione Push from $125, Infrared Sauna from $65, Immune Boost IV from $165, Myers' Cocktail IV from $185, Recovery & Performance IV from $195, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy from $200 a session, and NAD+ Therapy from $450. Member and series pricing is mentioned but not listed. Peptide therapy is listed as "Personalized," with no price. It does not publish prices for the MindSpan Program, which runs 12 months and can be paid monthly or annually. The Clava Membership offers 15 to 25% off list pricing, billed monthly, but no monthly fee is published. No consultation fee is stated.
Clava is direct-pay and says most insurance plans do not cover its services. It offers superbills for out-of-network reimbursement and says HSA or FSA funds are eligible for many services. Financing is available through CareCredit and Cherry, at 0% APR subject to approval. Cancellation terms for memberships are not stated.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with the prescriber. Ask who signs a peptide prescription, who sees you at follow-up, and who handles telehealth refills, since no one else is named for peptide or longevity care. Ask whether NAD+ and glutathione are brand-name medicines or compounded, and which pharmacy supplies them. Ask whether the MindSpan fee covers medication or only the diagnostics and therapies it mentions.
Then ask about the rest of the bill. Ask what the diagnostic testing, DEXA, VO2 Max and RMR cost, and what follow-up lab work and check-ins cost. Ask whether a consultation is free, how to cancel a membership or MindSpan plan, and whether any prepaid amount is refunded. The Montecito office has no address published, so ask where you would be seen. You can call (805) 497-7508.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are ready to pay cash, want a practice founded and led by a physician, and want IV, diagnostic and longevity services in one place, and you will get the answers above before you pay. It may not suit you if you need a published monthly price for peptide therapy or clear cancellation terms before you commit.
