What is BLU by ThriveWell?
BLU by ThriveWell is a membership longevity and fitness facility at 1709 E. Commercial Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. It's mainly a 20,000 square foot facility that puts longevity medicine together with fitness, recovery and community space: personal training, Pilates, yoga, cold plunge and saunas, indoor pickleball and a café. The medical side is longevity medicine. In its own words: "Meet with your dedicated Physician to review your results and refine your longevity goals."
Members start with a baseline: Lunar iDXA body composition, VO2 max testing, a longevity evaluation with genetic analysis and advanced biomarkers, and executive health testing. A physician then reviews the results and builds a care plan, with regular visits after that. It also offers continuous glucose monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, health packages including one for hormone health, access to primary care, coaching, IV therapy and mild hyperbaric oxygen. It doesn't name its physicians, and it doesn't describe prescribing weight loss medication or hormone therapy. Facility hours are Monday to Friday 5:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
What does it cost?
The BLU Medical membership, which is longevity medicine only, costs $7,500 a year. It includes a longevity medical assessment with 100+ advanced biomarkers and genetic testing, a continuous glucose monitor, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, quarterly longevity medicine and monthly coaching follow-ups, and iDXA and VO2 max testing twice a year. All memberships require a 12-month commitment. Other tiers add facility access, so ask what those cost. It doesn't say whether it takes insurance.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which physician you'd see and what their credentials are. Ask whether any medication or hormone treatment can be prescribed as part of the membership, and whether it costs extra. Ask what the hormone health package involves, and what happens if you need to leave before the 12 months are up.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you're in the Fort Lauderdale area, want a longevity assessment with ongoing physician follow-up, and would use a gym and recovery facility in the same building. It's a weaker fit if you're looking specifically for weight loss medication or hormone therapy.
