About Medicine With Heart

What is Medicine With Heart?

Medicine With Heart is a functional medicine clinic in Lakewood, Colorado, at 3333 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Building D, Suite 160. Its main work is complex chronic illness. The clinic names Lyme, mold illness, autoimmune conditions, gut problems, thyroid problems, hormones and what it calls mystery illness among the conditions it treats. The clinic was founded by Dr. Miles Nichols, who also founded the Medicine With Heart Institute.

The prescriber named for the clinic is Dr. Aleksandra "Ola" Deibel, MD, IFMCP. Her page describes her as a board-certified family physician and a practitioner certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine, and it mentions ozone and Prolozone injection therapy in her training. The clinic lists five services: Chronic Illness & Complex Cases, Longevity & Optimization, IV therapy, injections and Functional Labwork. Longevity & Optimization is the closest match to longevity medicine. Weight loss and peptide therapy are not named, and no hormone program is described. The clinic offers in-clinic and telehealth appointments, is open Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 6 PM, and serves Lakewood, Denver, Golden, Arvada and the Colorado Front Range. It has a 4.5 rating on Google from 27 reviews. It does not state how many years it has been in practice, and it does not name any medications.

What does it cost?

The clinic does not publish prices for any service. Nothing says what a visit, a program, IV therapy or an injection costs, or whether a program fee includes medication. It does not mention HSA or financing.

Two things are stated. The first 30 minute discovery call is listed as free. In its own words: "Schedule a FREE 30 minute discovery call to see how we can help you return to health, transform your life, and deepen your happiness." Insurance is accepted only for qualifying visits with Dr. Deibel, and the longevity programs are cash pay. Cancellation is by phone at (720) 722-1143, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain Time.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask for the price of the program you are considering in writing, and ask whether it includes medication, supplements and lab work. The clinic names several tests, including gene expression, imaging with AI analysis and microbiome assessment, so ask what each one costs. Ask who would write your prescription. Dr. Deibel is the named prescriber, but the pages also describe Dr. Gina Dattoli, MD, as assisting with patient care. If a medication is prescribed, ask whether it is brand-name or compounded.

Also ask which visits qualify for insurance, whether the discovery call is with a physician or another practitioner, and whether telehealth covers the state you live in, since the clinic does not say. Before you sign, ask for the billing terms in writing and confirm the cancellation steps.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you have a long-running health problem that routine visits have not explained, you are ready to pay cash for care insurance does not cover, and you want a functional medicine approach led by a physician who prescribes. If you need a posted price list, or you came for weight loss or peptide therapy, ask those questions first, because this clinic does not describe either.
