About Health in Harmony

What is Health in Harmony?

Health in Harmony is a functional integrative medicine practice at 100 Academy St. in Dickson, Tennessee. Hans Hinterkopf, PA-C, is a licensed physician assistant who owns the practice. The FAQ says he works with a supervising physician. He has been in medicine for 30 years, opened this private practice in 2020, and is board certified with the Institute of Functional Medicine. Earlier, he worked in cardiology, emergency and inpatient hospital medicine, and pediatrics.

The practice lists 12 services, including brain health, autoimmune and chronic disease, digestive health, neurofeedback, pediatric care and routine health visits. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy is one of them. It does not name the hormone medications it uses. Its Google rating is 5 from 2 reviews.

Visits may be in office, and some are available by telehealth. In its own words: "Regulations require that we see you one time in the office each year." After that first in-person visit, the rest of the appointments can be done by phone. It does not list office hours.

What does it cost?

The initial package is paid in three $350 payments: a $350 non-refundable deposit when you schedule, $350 at the initial consult, and $350 at the follow-up visit. The initial visit is included in the package price. Labs and supplements are not included, though patients get 20% off supplements bought through the clinic.

After the package, single follow-up visits cost $350 each. You can also prepay four visits for $1,200, to be used within 12 months, or pay $110 a month for 12 months for the same four visits. It does not publish cancellation terms. Pediatric visits are paid per visit, and pricing comes from a discovery call. Neurofeedback pricing comes from Joanna at the office.

It does not publish a hormone therapy price, and it does not state whether any price includes hormone medication. It does not accept insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. It will provide a bill with codes that you can submit to your insurer, and it advises checking with your provider about coverage.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask what Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy costs on its own, and whether that price includes the hormone medication and any follow-up labs. Ask which hormone medications are prescribed, and whether they are brand-name or compounded, since neither is named. Ask who writes and signs the hormone prescriptions, given that the supervising physician is not named.

Ask what the labs cost, since they are not part of the package. Ask how a subscription is canceled and whether unused visits carry over or are refunded, because the deposit is non-refundable. Ask for office hours by calling (931) 623-4203, since none are listed.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a long first visit with a physician assistant trained in functional medicine, you can pay the package and follow-up fees yourself and submit claims to your insurer, and you are willing to get the hormone medication details in writing before you book. Worth a call if those three things match your situation.
