What is The Wellness Collective?
The Wellness Collective is a multidisciplinary clinic at 2333 W. 57th Street, Suite 103, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Medical care, mental health and body based therapies all work out of one office. Its medical services are functional medicine, psychiatry and phlebotomy, with on-site lab testing. It also offers counseling, counseling supervision and consultation, massage, acupuncture, traditional East Asian medicine and yoga.
Functional medicine is the service closest to hormone care. The clinic lists hormone and metabolic support, advanced labs and personalized plans under it. Amy Holsing, Catie McCulley, Christen Duke and Lauren Casey are listed as nurse practitioners in functional medicine. Hannah Otten is listed as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and the clinic lists psychiatric medication management. Functional medicine and counseling can be done by telehealth as well as in person. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 6:30pm and Friday from 8am to 5pm. It has a Google rating of 5 from 39 reviews.
In its own words: "Schedule a visit with any provider or discipline," and new patients can call first to be pointed to a starting point.
What does it cost?
Functional medicine is priced by visit. An initial functional medicine exam (45 minutes) is $375. A lab review (45 minutes) is $375. A follow-up (30 minutes) is $300. Email correspondence runs $20 to $60 depending on length. There is a 10% discount if you pay in full at the appointment.
The clinic does not say whether these visit fees include any medication. It also says extra time, research or additional testing can raise the fee. Blood draws are $25, and common lab costs run from $3 to $335. The clinic quotes the lab cost before the draw.
Other prices: psychiatry is $375 for a new patient visit (60 minutes) and $300 for a complex follow-up (30 minutes). Counseling is $275 for an initial visit and $250 for a follow-up. Acupuncture is $130 initial and $85 for follow-up. Massage runs from $60 for 30 minutes to $140 for 90 minutes. Yoga has a month-to-month unlimited pass at $85 and an annual unlimited pass at $600, paid once.
It accepts insurance. Functional medicine, psychiatry and phlebotomy are in network with Avera, Blue Cross, Medicaid, Medicare, Sanford, UMR (Avera and Sanford) and Cigna. It lists acupuncture, massage and yoga as not covered by insurance. A late cancellation or no show for functional medicine costs 50% of the appointment. It does not publish a separate price for hormone-related treatment.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether it prescribes hormones at all. It lists hormone and metabolic support under functional medicine, but it does not say whether that includes prescribed hormones. If it does, ask which provider would write the prescription.
Ask whether the functional medicine visit fee includes any medication. If a medication is prescribed, ask whether it is brand name or compounded.
Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost over a year, since review visits and added testing both change the bill.
Ask whether it offers weight loss, testosterone, peptide or longevity care. The clinic does not name any of these.
Ask how its memberships and packages work. The services list includes "Memberships and Packages," but it does not publish terms for them.
Ask it to confirm your plan is in network before your first visit, and ask about Saturday and Sunday availability, since those hours are not listed.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want functional medicine with hormone and metabolic support in Sioux Falls, and you also want counseling, psychiatry or massage in the same office. If you have a specific treatment in mind, such as weight loss or peptide care, call first and ask whether it is offered.
