About PridePoint Health
What is PridePoint Health?
PridePoint Health is a direct primary care practice at 1827 NE 44th Ave Suite 220, Portland, OR 97213. The phone number is (503) 616-2877. Dr. Ryan Coe, MD, is the physician who prescribes, and he is a co-founder of the practice. It is mainly a primary care practice for adults, with a particular focus on LGBTQ health and gender-affirming care. Its listed services also include HIV care, PrEP, mental health care, contraceptive management, and weight management. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with additional hours by appointment.
Gender-affirming hormone therapy is the service it describes in the most detail. The medications it names are Androgel, testosterone cypionate, estradiol tablets, estradiol valerate, estradiol patches and spironolactone. It follows an informed consent model, so a letter from a mental health provider is not needed to start. Telemedicine covers Oregon and Washington, with prescriptions sent to a mail-order or local pharmacy and labs drawn near the patient. Seattle, Eugene, Spokane and Bend are named as cities it serves, but its only street address is in Portland.
What does it cost?
The gender-affirming membership is $79 per month (active hormone management). Medication and lab work are not included in that fee. The cash estimates it publishes, dated March 2025, run from $5 to $7 a month for spironolactone up to $40 to $80 a month for Androgel. Lab draws are listed at $12 to $18 each. It does not publish a consultation fee or prices for its other memberships. It notes that patients may use insurance for prescriptions and labs, but it does not say whether it bills insurance for the membership itself. Its membership terms read: "No Fees, Cancel Anytime." It also runs a Health Equity Fund for people facing economic barriers to membership.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the $79 covers any medication, and what the cash price is for the specific drug you would take. Ask whether that drug is brand name, generic or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it. Ask who writes and renews prescriptions, and how often. If testosterone is part of your plan, ask whether you will need an in-person physical exam, since telemedicine rules for controlled substances can change. Ask how often labs are drawn, what each draw costs, and whether insurance is billed for them. For weight management, ask what the program involves and whether medication is included, because no specific program is named. Ask how cancellation works and whether any notice is required.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live in Oregon or Washington, want a physician focused on LGBTQ and gender-affirming care, and can pay for medication and labs on top of the monthly membership. It is a poor match if you need the medication cost included in one monthly price, or if you need care at a location outside Portland that you can visit in person.
