What is The Gama Centre for Health and Longevity?

What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. There is no consultation fee, no price for either BHRT program, no price for the Longevity Program, and no price for counselling. It does not say whether medication is included in any program.
Insurance covers part of the care. Medically necessary services are covered by OHIP on Dr. Welchner's regular shifts at the clinic. OHIP does not consider the longevity assessment medically necessary, so it is not covered. The bioidentical hormone program is included in the Longevity Program. Follow-up visits are booked about every 3 months over the year, and blood or saliva tests are ordered along the way.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with the prescription. Ask whether Dr. Welchner writes each hormone prescription and reviews your blood tests himself. Ask whether the program fee includes the medication. Ask whether the hormones are brand-name or compounded, since it does not say. Ask what the blood and saliva tests cost, who bills for them, and what each follow-up visit costs over a full year.
Ask whether there is a consultation fee, what the office hours are, and whether any visits can be done by video, since none of these are stated. Ask how long the practice has been open. Ask how to cancel a program and whether any fees are refunded. If you are booking counselling, ask whether it is billed separately from the hormone program. Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you can get to Aurora, Ontario, for regular in-person visits, you want a physician-led hormone or longevity program, and you are ready to pay for the parts OHIP does not cover.
