What is MeehanMD?
MeehanMD is a fee for service clinic at 7134 South Yale Avenue, Suite 400, Tulsa, OK 74136. Its main work is hormone therapy and functional medicine, with a long list of add-on services. It has two hormone programs, ManUP for men and Harmony for women, and a men's Hormone Optimization Membership Program. Its prescribers are Dr. Terry Lakin, DO, MPH; Dr. Eric Fete, DO, whose stated focus is preventive health, age management and hormone therapy; and Jim Meehan, MD. Beyond hormones, the clinic lists IntellxxDNA genetic testing, functional wellness visits, an Emergency Med Kit of 8 prescriptions, RGCC cancer screening, SLIT allergy testing, peptide therapy, a COVID long haul recovery program, and MINDSETkids, a children's program with telehealth visits. The IV Infusion Bar, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, auricular acupuncture and osteopathic manipulation are available in the office only.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. For the membership, it lists "Call for pricing" along with the phone number, 918-600-2240. The first conversation is free: the clinic offers a Free Discovery Call with a MINDSET Wellness Coach, who is a coach and not one of its prescribers. The membership includes hormone labs every 6 months, provider review every 6 months, monthly hormone therapy, and a 10% discount on supplements. It does not say whether the medication is included in the membership price, or what the cancellation terms are.
Payment is due the morning of services. The clinic does not accept insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, and it accepts CareCredit. It will give a receipt listing services and costs for you to submit to an HSA or FSA, but it does not provide ICD-10 codes.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes and signs your prescription, and whether that is the same doctor who reviews your labs. Ask whether the membership fee covers the hormone medication itself or whether it is billed separately, and whether the hormones are bioidentical, compounded or both. Ask what the 6 month labs cost, what follow up visits cost in between, and how a membership is canceled. For the Emergency Med Kit, ask which 8 prescriptions it contains and who decides whether it is right for you. If you are considering the COVID recovery program or any viral illness protocol, ask what treatments are proposed and what evidence supports them. Messages through the contact form get a reply within 24 to 48 hours, and the phone line's listed hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 to 5, and Friday, 9 to noon Central.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want cash pay hormone care from named physicians and you are comfortable asking for prices, medication terms and cancellation rules before you pay. It is a weaker fit if you need a published price list or insurance billing, or if you live outside Oklahoma and need in person services, since its providers can care for patients in all states, but in office services are only in Tulsa.
