About The Skin Center

What is The Skin Center?

The Skin Center is a medical spa, and most of its business is cosmetic treatment. The menu includes Botox, Dysport and Daxxify, dermal fillers, laser treatments, facials and peels, body contouring, and cosmetic surgery such as eyelid surgery, facelift and breast augmentation. Hormone therapy is one service on that list. In its own words: "Hormone Replacement Therapy at The Skin Center treats female hormonal imbalances caused by perimenopause and menopause with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)." It also offers hormone pellet therapy. It does not name weight loss, peptide or longevity medicine services.

The clinic has offices in Pennsylvania (Cranberry, Murrysville, Mt. Lebanon, Shadyside, Southpointe and Wexford), Ohio (Columbus, Dublin, Gahanna, Cleveland, Shaker Heights and Westlake) and Michigan (Grand Rapids and Holland). Hormone therapy is led by Donna Gisleson, CRNP, NP, listed as director of hormone replacement therapy, and Beth Phillips, NP. The clinic has been operating for over 40 years. It holds a 5 star rating on Google from 126 reviews.

What does it cost?

It does not publish prices for any treatment, including hormone therapy, and it gives no consultation fee for hormone therapy. It does not say whether it accepts insurance. The one money offer it advertises is 10% off. New patients can take 10% off any service, and existing patients get 10% off a treatment they have never had at the clinic, with restrictions. It mentions financing options and a loyalty program but gives no terms. You can reach the clinic at 1 800 429 1151.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask which location offers hormone therapy. Hormone therapy is available at select locations, and it does not say whether the Westlake, OH office is one of them. Ask who signs the prescription and whether the fee covers the medication itself. Ask whether the hormones are custom compounded, since its pellets are described that way, and which pharmacy makes them. Ask what follow-up visits and hormone level monitoring cost, and how often pellets are inserted and what each insertion costs. Ask how you cancel and whether any package is refunded. For Botox or Dysport, ask whether pricing is per unit or per area. Telehealth is not mentioned, so ask whether follow-ups can be done by video.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want cosmetic treatment at a medical spa, or you are considering hormone therapy there and are comfortable getting prices, prescriber details and cancellation terms in writing before you book. It is a weaker fit if you need insurance billing, or if you are looking for weight loss, peptide or longevity care, since none of those are described here.

We have not yet collected published prices or prescriber credentials for this clinic. When we do, they will appear here with a link to the page they came from — or a note saying the clinic publishes none, which is itself worth knowing. Call them for a price in the meantime.
