What is Practical Health?
Practical Health is a functional medicine and direct primary care practice with offices in Wadsworth, Willoughby and Sewickley, Pennsylvania. It says it supports clients in Cleveland, Medina, Akron and across northeast Ohio. Hormone therapy is one of its services, offered to men and women, and its hormone therapy page names estrogen replacement therapy and testosterone replacement therapy. The clinic names Meredith Hlebak, PA-C, FMCP-M, Dr. Kristin Wenger and Nate Workman, APRN-CNP as its prescribers. Its Google listing shows a 4.7 rating from 26 reviews.
What does it cost?
The clinic does not publish a price for hormone therapy. Direct primary care is the part with published prices: a one-time $199 enrollment fee, then $99 a month for patients ages 2 and up, or $289 per visit without a membership. The functional medicine and direct primary care membership starts with a $399 initial consultation for adults ($329 for ages 16 and under), then $279 a month. Families of three get 20% off the lowest tier's monthly dues and half off the initial visit or enrollment charge. It does not say whether these fees cover medication, lab work or hormone visits, whether it accepts insurance, or how cancellation works.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with the prescriber. The clinic does not say which of its prescribers handles hormone therapy, so ask who will sign your prescription and whether you will see the same person for follow-up. Ask whether any membership fee covers the medication itself, and whether the drug is brand-name or compounded. Ask what the first hormone visit, each follow-up and the lab work cost, and whether insurance is billed for any of it.
Willoughby and Sewickley do not publish street addresses, and no hours are listed, so ask which office you would attend, its address and hours, and whether hormone visits can be done by telemedicine. In its own words: "At Practical Health, the decision to use hormone therapy is made individually after discussing the patient's symptoms, goals, medical history, potential benefits, and potential risks." Ask to have that conversation before you pay for anything.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want hormone therapy inside an ongoing primary care or functional medicine relationship and you are comfortable paying a membership fee. If you need a published price for hormone therapy before you book, call (330) 591-2444 first and get the answer in writing.
