About Balanced Medical
What is Balanced Medical?
Balanced Medical is a gynecology and menopause practice at 110 Main Street, Suite 103, in Port Washington, NY 11050. Its main work is women's gynecologic care and menopause treatment, with longevity and lifestyle medicine alongside it. Dr. Adrienne Mandelberger, FACOG, MD, is the only prescriber listed. The practice describes her as a board-certified OB/GYN, a certified menopause practitioner and a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon. The team also includes a registered nurse and a health and nutrition coach, Sara Siskind, who does not prescribe.
The services listed are menopause and perimenopause treatment with hormonal and non-hormonal options, longevity optimization, annual gynecologic exams with Pap smears, contraception management, IUD insertion and removal, colposcopy, pelvic physical therapy, and gynecologic surgery such as hysteroscopy and fibroid removal. For IUD insertion, it names nitrous oxide. Telemedicine consultations are available to patients within New York State. Membership adds priority booking, extended visits, text and email access to Dr. Mandelberger, nutrition coaching with Sara Siskind, and partnerships with Prenuvo for cancer screening and Ambry Genetic Testing. Google lists the practice at 4.9 from 9 reviews.
What does it cost?
The intake consult is $700 for an hour-long visit, and the surgical consult is $500. If you join the membership afterward, the $700 goes toward your first year's dues. The membership fee and hormone therapy prices are not published. Neither is whether insurance is accepted for visits. The clinic does say it accepts HSA and FSA cards, and that lab work, Pap smears and imaging are almost always covered by insurance. Out-of-network visits can be submitted for reimbursement through Reimbursify. In its own words: "There's absolutely no obligation to join the membership after your visit."
What should you ask before you book?
Ask for the yearly membership fee and how you cancel, since neither is published. Ask whether the membership covers hormone prescriptions or whether medication is billed on top, and what that costs. Ask whether any prescription would be compounded or brand-name. Ask what follow-up visits, extra lab work and in-office procedures cost outside the membership. Ask whether the office bills insurance for visits or takes cash, HSA or FSA only. If you want weight loss medication or peptide therapy, ask directly, since the clinic does not list either. If you live elsewhere in New York State, ask which visits can be done by telemedicine.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are dealing with menopause, perimenopause or other gynecologic care, you can get to Port Washington or be seen by telemedicine as a New York State resident, and you are comfortable paying a $700 intake fee before a membership price is in front of you. If you are looking for weight loss medication or peptide therapy, this clinic does not list either.
