About True North Direct Primary Care

What is True North Direct Primary Care?

True North Direct Primary Care is a direct primary care practice with offices in Hamilton and Kalispell, Montana. Patients pay a membership fee for day-to-day primary care instead of billing insurance. Dr. Robert Hart, a physician, and Wendy Hansen, RN, opened the practice in Hamilton in 2022. Dr. Hart and Wendy Hansen, RN, are the prescribers.

At its core it is family medicine and primary care. It offers annual wellness and preventive exams, acute and urgent care, well child and pediatric care, management of chronic medical conditions, and non-surgical sports medicine. Its other services include bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for men and women, IV and injectable nutrition therapy, NAD+ therapy, PRP joint therapy, minor in-office procedures, and Xymogen supplements. NAD+ is the one medication it names. It does not list weight loss or GLP-1 medication among its services.

In its own words: "Longer, unhurried visits give us time to listen, understand, educate, and create a plan together."

This listing is for its Hamilton office at 482 Old Corvallis Rd.

What does it cost?

Membership prices are set by age. Ages 0 to 17 and 18 to 25 pay $45 a month or $486 a year. Ages 26 to 39 pay $95 a month or $1,026 a year. Ages 40 and up pay $105 a month or $1,134 a year. Children must enroll with an adult membership. A family membership for two adults and two children under 26 is $220 a month or $2,640 a year, and each additional child is $45 a month. Individual memberships run on a 12-month agreement, paid monthly or annually, and paying annually saves 10%. Membership includes annual lab work and covers included care with no copays or per-visit charges.

It does not publish prices for hormone therapy, NAD+ therapy or a consultation fee. It does not say whether hormone visits are covered by membership or billed separately, whether medication is included in any price, or whether insurance is accepted for visits. Minor procedures are charged at the cost of supplies, and most cost less than $50. Veterans and first responders can get a discounted membership. Hormone therapy consultations are also open to people who are not members.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who writes the hormone prescription and how often you would see that person. Ask whether membership covers hormone visits and follow-up lab work, or whether those are billed on top. Ask for the total monthly cost of hormone therapy, including medication, and whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. Ask what an NAD+ infusion or injection costs. Ask whether any visit is billed to insurance, what the office hours are, and whether telehealth is offered. Finally, ask what happens if you leave during the 12-month membership.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want an ongoing primary care relationship paid by membership, you live near Hamilton or Kalispell, and you are considering hormone therapy, NAD+ or IV nutrition alongside regular care. Get the hormone and NAD+ prices in writing before you enroll. Call (406) 530-7439 to ask.
