What is Truth Integrative Medicine?

Truth Integrative Medicine is a functional medicine clinic at 3670 Lakeland Lane, Ste 1A, in Jackson, Mississippi. It was formerly called Truth Wellness Center. Kimberly Strong, FNP, FNP-BC, MSN, is the owner and nurse practitioner, and she is the only prescriber the clinic names. In its own words: "Truth Integrative Medicine is a functional medicine clinic born out of frustration with the conventional medical system and limitations in insurance-based healthcare."

Most of the clinic's work is evaluation and testing for fatigue, thyroid, gut, adrenal and environmental exposure concerns, along with nutritional programs and a mold screening program. Of the services a reader might be looking for, it offers hormone therapy (a men's hormone evaluation that includes testosterone replacement, and a menopause hormone evaluation) and peptide therapies. It does not name a medical weight loss program or a longevity medicine program.

It is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon. It serves Jackson and nearby towns including Flowood, Brandon, Pearl, Ridgeland, Madison and Clinton. Google lists it at 4.4 from 15 reviews. It does not publish the year it opened.

What does it cost?

The clinic is cash pay only. It is not in network with any insurance, but it gives you a receipt with diagnosis and procedure codes so you can file a claim yourself. Whether your plan pays is up to your plan.

The Initial Visit is $250, and follow-up visits are $125. Initial labs are $212, and labs every six months are $171. A yearly prostate-specific antigen test is $41. None of these include medication. Testosterone Replacement Therapy is not included, and you receive a prescription to fill at your local pharmacy. Men on hormone therapy must come in every six months.

The mold screening program is a flat $1,700 and includes the lab panel and two clinician visits. The clinic describes its refund terms two different ways, so ask which one applies before you pay.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who writes the prescription, and who covers your care when Kimberly Strong is out.

Ask whether any medication is brand name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it. Ask what your total yearly cost would be with visits, labs and the drug included, since the drug is not in the quoted prices.

For peptides, ask which ones are offered, how they are scheduled, and what they cost each month.

For the mold screening, ask which tests are in the panel and why. The clinic notes that some specialists consider certain environmental testing methods unproven. Get the refund policy in writing.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you live in or near Jackson, can pay cash for visits, testing and medication, and want a nurse practitioner who looks closely at fatigue, thyroid, gut and environmental exposure history. It is a weaker fit if you need a named weight loss or longevity program, or telehealth, since the clinic does not state either.
