About BIOHARMONY Health

What is BIOHARMONY Health?

BIOHARMONY Health is a women's health practice on the first floor of the Guided Health building at 7250 Metro Blvd, Suite 100, in Edina, Minnesota. Its prescribers are Margaret Hildebrand, MD, and Kelly Casserly, DO, both OB/GYNs, and the practice says the two have nearly 30 years of combined experience. Its main focus is perimenopause and menopause.

It offers three programs: the Hormonal Wellness Program (three months), the Signature Wellness Program (three months) and the Optimal Wellness Program (six months). Each includes doctor visits, lab testing, lifestyle support and pharmaceutical-grade supplements. It also offers menopause hormone therapy (MHT). In its own words: "We create tailored plans that combine nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes, nutraceuticals and, when needed, hormone therapy."

It does not name specific medications, and it does not offer hormone pellets or pap smears. Google lists it as a women's health clinic and shows a rating of 5 from 15 reviews.

What does it cost?

It does not publish prices, and no consultation fee is listed. The one-hour Wellness Consultation is credited toward a program, and the discovery call is complimentary. It accepts HSA and FSA payments and does not take insurance. You may submit a receipt to your insurer after a program ends, but the practice does not guarantee reimbursement. It describes its program pricing as all-inclusive without saying whether medication is part of that price. Cancellation terms are not stated.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask for the total price of each program in writing, and whether it can be paid in installments. Ask whether the program fee includes prescription medication. The clinic's own answers conflict on billing: one says hormone prescriptions are billed through insurance when indicated, and another says it does not take insurance. Ask which applies to you. Ask who writes the prescriptions, how often you would see that doctor, and whether any hormone medication is brand-name or compounded. Ask what the lab work costs, and whether the repeat labs around months three and six are included. Ask what happens if you cancel partway through a three or six month program. Finally, ask whether telehealth visits are offered and what the office hours are, since neither is stated.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you are in the perimenopause or menopause transition, can visit the Edina office, and are ready to pay cash or use an HSA or FSA for a three or six month program. If you need insurance billing or telehealth, get answers to those questions before you book.
