About Evolution Health Berkshires

What is Evolution Health Berkshires?

Evolution Health Berkshires is a private hormone practice at 17 Main Street, Suite B3, in the Zabian Building downtown in Lee, Massachusetts. Jen Nugent, ANP-C, APRN, FNP-C, NP, founded the practice and is the only prescriber it names. The clinic credits her with 20 years of clinical healthcare experience as a Registered Nurse, 13 of them as a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, and says she has been a certified BioTE provider since 2019.

The clinic lists two services: testosterone therapy and menopause care. It describes hormone pellets, along with topical, oral and injectable options, as ways to deliver treatment. It also sells skincare, a vaginal product and nutraceuticals. Its FAQ says some plans add progesterone for women whose uterus has not been removed, and it recommends DIM, a nutraceutical, during hormone therapy.

Its blog has a post about microdosing GLP-1 medicines, but weight loss is not a listed service. Google shows the practice with a 5 rating from 7 reviews.

What does it cost?

The clinic publishes a starting price. Treatment options start at approximately $69 to $129 a month, and the cost varies by option. The clinic does not say whether that figure includes the medication. It does not publish a consultation fee or office hours. Blood work is at a flat rate, but the rate is not listed.

It is a cash pay practice. HSA and FSA cards can pay for the in-office consultation, the lab work package, implanted hormone therapy and nutraceuticals. In its own words: "We work for you, not the insurance companies."

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the monthly figure includes the hormones, and which delivery method it starts with. Ask whether the medicine is brand-name or compounded. Its FAQ says the hormones in its pellets are compounded by a compounding pharmacist, so ask which pharmacy fills them. Ask who signs each prescription.

Ask for the consultation fee, the blood work price and the cost of follow-up visits. The clinic describes a visit 4 to 6 weeks after the first treatment, then later pellet insertions or topical adjustments, so ask how often those visits happen. Ask how to cancel and whether there is a contract, since the clinic does not say. Ask whether any visits can be done by telehealth and what the office hours are. If weight loss is your goal, ask whether GLP-1 medicines are prescribed there at all. Call 413-248-6331 to get answers.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you live in or near the Berkshires, want an in-person hormone consultation with one nurse practitioner, and are ready to pay cash for testosterone therapy or menopause care. If weight loss medicine is your main goal, ask first, since that is not a listed service.
