About Annapolis Integrative Medicine

What is Annapolis Integrative Medicine?

Annapolis Integrative Medicine is a physician-led functional and integrative medicine practice at 1819 Bay Ridge Avenue, Suite 180, in Annapolis, Maryland. Alan Weiss, M.D., is the medical director. He is board certified in internal medicine, has practiced medicine for over 15 years, and is a Biote Legacy provider. Kim Weiss, RN, is also on the team. She has over 25 years of nursing experience, including ICU and oncology care, and works with the practice's IV therapies.

The practice takes on longstanding, complex medical problems and treats them with conventional, integrative and functional therapies, including food choices, lifestyle, and nutrients or supplements. Its services are a complete medical evaluation, evaluation of complex chronic conditions, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), IV therapy, Morpheus 8, Votiva, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and peptide therapy. The peptide therapy service names Thymosin Alpha 1, Ipamorelin, Sermorelin and PT-141. It does not list a medical weight loss program. It is open Monday through Friday and closed on weekends. It serves patients in Annapolis, Parole, Eatons Landing, Hillsmere Shores, Highland Beach, Rolling Hills, Edgewater and surrounding Maryland communities.

What does it cost?

It does not publish prices. There is no consultation fee, per-visit rate, monthly fee or membership term listed. It does not say whether it accepts insurance, whether hormone or peptide medication is included in any cost, or whether it offers HSA payment or financing. Telehealth is not described either.

Before you book, call (410) 567-0667 and ask for the consultation fee and the price of the service you want. Ask whether medication is billed on top of that price. Ask whether any visit is billed to insurance or paid in cash. If a monthly or membership fee is quoted, ask for the terms in writing.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs each prescription. Alan Weiss, M.D., is the only physician named on the team, and he is listed as the medical reviewer on the hormone and peptide material. The peptide therapy material does not say who prescribes or monitors peptides, so ask which clinician will be responsible for that and who follows you between visits.

Ask whether the hormone medication is brand name or compounded. The practice describes its hormones this way: In its own words: "Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men (BHRT) uses hormones that are identical, on a molecular level, to the natural hormones occurring in your body." Ask which product that is, who makes it, and where it is filled.

Ask what return visits and lab work cost, and whether labs are billed separately. Ask what Morpheus 8 and Votiva involve, who performs them and what they cost, since the service list gives no detail on either. Finally, ask how to cancel and whether there is a contract or minimum term.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a physician-led practice that handles hormone therapy, peptide therapy and complex chronic conditions under one roof, and you are willing to get prices, prescribing details and cancellation terms in writing before you pay. If you are looking for a medical weight loss program, this practice does not list one.
