About North Star Holistic Medicine
What is North Star Holistic Medicine?
North Star Holistic Medicine is a cash-pay practice at 16 Northbrook Drive in Falmouth, Maine. Hormone therapy is its main service, including testosterone replacement for men and hormone care for women in perimenopause and menopause. It also offers peptide therapy and what it calls regenerative and longevity medicine, with NAD+, methylene blue and Sermorelin Glycine among the treatments it names. Google lists it as a holistic medicine practitioner, with a rating of 5 from 37 reviews.
The homepage also lists "clearing energetic blockages" among its services, and member discounts cover bodywork and energy work. The clinic offers online wellness lessons and live webinars. In its own words: "Your intuition and inner knowing guide the way." The clinic does not name the person who prescribes, and it does not list office hours, a telehealth option or a weight loss medication program.
What does it cost?
Hormone therapy is sold as a membership. Testosterone by single injection alone is $175 a month, and adding once weekly enclomiphene brings it to $185 a month. Other combinations run $200 a month for one hormone, $225 for two and $275 for three or more. A $500 nonrefundable intake deposit covers the intake lab panel and intake visit. A Mini Hormone Review costs a $125 lab fee and a 45 min visit at $185, paid when you book. Those fees go toward a membership if you join. The discovery call is free and lasts 30 minutes. Each family member who joins gets $25 a month off.
The membership lists prescribed hormones, injection supplies and shipping among its services. The clinic does not say whether those are included in the monthly price. Peptides are sold by supply rather than by monthly fee. Sermorelin Glycine is $350 for a 7 week supply with shipping and injection supplies, injectable BPC-157 is $315, and injectable NAD+ is $275 for a 10 dose vial. Methylene blue starts with a $75 lab draw and an $85 first month, then averages $175 a month depending on dosing. The clinic does not say whether it accepts insurance, and it does not publish cancellation terms.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the prescription, and whether you will see that same person at each visit. Ask whether the $175 or $200 monthly fee includes the hormones, injection supplies and shipping, and what you would pay if it does not. For the peptides and NAD+, ask whether each product is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it. Ask which lab draws the intake panel, Quest or Labcorp, since Labcorp orders carry a $100 added fee. Also ask what follow-up labs cost outside the covered schedule. Finally, ask how the membership is cancelled, how billing works, and whether the clinic accepts insurance or HSA payment.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want ongoing hormone care with regular labs and visits, and you are ready to pay a monthly membership and a nonrefundable deposit before treatment starts. It may not suit you if you need insurance billing, a named prescriber, a weight loss medication or posted office hours, since the clinic does not list any of these.
