What is PCP Health?
PCP Health is a primary care and functional medicine clinic at 16954 Toledo Blade Blvd, Suite 2, in Port Charlotte, Florida. The main line is 941-946-7820. Its listed services are Primary Care, Psychiatry, Adult Cognitive Testing, Functional Medicine, EBOO Therapy, Hormone Replacement Therapy and a Supplement Protocol. The hormone program uses EvexiPEL pellets and testosterone. The clinic calls EvexiPEL "a premium, customized solution for men and women experiencing hormonal decline." Psychiatry is booked on a separate line, (386)-424-3320.
The clinic does not name a prescriber. It says an initial consultation is done by a "board-certified provider," but it gives no name or specialty. Office visits run Monday through Friday, with Friday closing at 3 PM. Saturday and Sunday are telehealth only, from 9 AM to 5 PM. You choose telehealth or in office when you book. Google lists the clinic at 5 stars from 22 reviews.
What does it cost?
Hormone therapy is quoted as a starting price. The female package starts at $350 per procedure, and the male package starts at $500 per procedure. Both include an initial consultation and eligibility check by a board-certified provider. Follow-up prices can change depending on how you respond and what you need. In its own words: "All prices are all-inclusive," but the same section says laboratory fees are billed separately. It does not say whether the pellets themselves are included in the starting price.
The clinic lists Primary Care, Psychiatry, Functional Medicine and EBOO Therapy memberships, but it does not publish prices or terms for any of them. It does not publish a consultation fee for the other services. It says hormone replacement therapy and functional medicine are not covered by insurance. It lists plans it is in network with, including Aetna, Blue Cross, Florida Blue, Medicare and UnitedHealthcare, but it does not say which of its services those plans cover. Self-pay patients can get superbills for HSA accounts or PPO reimbursement.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription and what that person's credentials are, since no prescriber is named. Ask whether the $350 or $500 covers the pellets or only the visit, and whether the testosterone and EvexiPEL pellets are manufactured products or compounded. Ask what the lab work costs, how often it is repeated, and what a typical follow-up visit charges. If you are considering a membership, ask for its monthly price, what it includes, and how to cancel it. Ask to see the refund policy before you pay anything.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are paying cash for hormone therapy and are willing to get the pellet price, lab costs and prescriber's name in writing before your first visit. It is a weaker fit if you need one all-in price up front or want to know who is prescribing before you book.
