About Center For Men's Health

What is Center For Men's Health?

Center For Men's Health is a physician-run practice, and testosterone replacement therapy is its main work. In its own words: "EXCLUSIVE: Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is all we do." Dr James Derespino, M.D., is the founder and Medical Director, and Dr. Stahl also prescribes. Both are members of the American Academy of Private Physicians, and the practice works on a concierge model, a direct financial relationship between patients and physicians. It was established in 2011.

It runs 18 state-licensed clinics in Florida: Naples, Estero, Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Venice, Sarasota, Bradenton, St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park, Brandon, South Tampa, Carrollwood, Clearwater, Plant City, Wesley Chapel and Tarpon Springs. Visits are in person, and no appointment is needed at any location. Weight loss, peptide and longevity services are not named. Google lists it at 4.8 from 6 reviews, under reproductive health clinic.

What does it cost?

The initial exam, with a physician consultation and lab tests, is $45. Testosterone injections are $85.00 per visit, every 14 days, and each visit includes a B12 injection. It does not say whether the $85 covers the medication. Standard follow-up labs are $90, done at 12 weeks and then every 6 to 12 months. A finger-prick hematocrit and hemoglobin check, about 4 times a year, is $7. Estrogen blockers, Viagra and Cialis are prescribed only when a physician judges them appropriate, and no prices for them are published. Pricing is dated January 1, 2023.

There are no financial contracts and no upfront treatment payments. The practice does not accept insurance, but it will provide a coded invoice you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. No membership fee, financing option or cancellation terms are published.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the $85 covers the testosterone, and if not, what the medication adds to each visit. Ask which physician signs your prescription, and what credentials Dr. Stahl holds. The practice does not use compounded injectable testosterone, but ask which manufacturer makes the product you would receive. In its own words: "FEEL FREE TO ASK TO SEE THE VIALS OF TESTOSTERONE." Ask what a first year will total, including the $90 follow-up labs, the $7 checks and any Viagra, Cialis or estrogen blocker you are prescribed. Ask whether the $85 price is still current, since the pricing is dated January 1, 2023. Ask how to cancel. Ask for a main phone number and the street address of the office you would use, since only a weather and emergency line is published.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you have already decided to pursue testosterone replacement, can come in person every 14 days to one of its Florida offices, and are ready to pay cash at each visit. If you want weight loss, peptide or longevity care, nothing here names those services.
