About Radiantly Healthy MD

What is Radiantly Healthy MD?

Radiantly Healthy MD is a physician-led functional medicine, integrative and primary care practice at 417 5th Ave, Ste 101, in Indialantic, Florida. It serves Melbourne and Brevard County and has been open since 2006. Hormone therapy is one of several listed services, alongside thyroid health, weight loss, health coaching and healthy aging and longevity.

Four clinicians are named: Rebecca Hunton, MD, the medical director and founder; Evangelia Fotopoulos, MD, MPH; Lisa Johnson, PA-C; and Michelle Pownall, APRN-BC. The medications named for hormone care are estradiol, progesterone and testosterone. Testosterone can be given by injection, topical cream or gel, or pellet. Visits are in person in Indialantic, or by telemedicine for Florida and out-of-state patients where permitted. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Google lists the practice under Weight loss service, rated 4.4 from 60 reviews.

What does it cost?

It does not publish prices for hormone therapy or weight loss. The first step is a 15-minute virtual discovery appointment, listed as complimentary. The practice offers Direct Primary Care membership and Concierge Medicine, and says most visits are not billed to insurance. Traditional Medicare (Part B) is accepted by Dr. Evangelia Fotopoulos and Michelle Pownall, APRN-BC, with limited availability. It does not take Medicare Advantage or commercial insurance. It does not say whether medication is included in any fee, or what membership terms and cancellation look like.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs the hormone prescription and who manages dosing over time. The testosterone and women's hormone pages describe ongoing monitoring but do not name which clinician handles it. Ask whether the fee covers the medication, and whether the hormone is compounded or commercially made. The practice says it uses compounding pharmacies and FDA-approved manufacturers, so ask which applies to you.

Ask whether Dr. Hunton or Lisa Johnson, PA-C, accepts Traditional Medicare, since the practice names only Dr. Fotopoulos and Michelle Pownall. Ask whether it prescribes weight loss medications, including GLP-1 drugs. Its weight loss page mentions GLP-1s but does not say it prescribes them. Finally, ask what lab work, follow-up visits and pellet procedures cost on top of the base fee, and how membership is billed and canceled.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a physician-led relationship you pay for directly, and you are willing to cover visits and monitoring that insurance will not. It is a weaker fit if you need a posted price list before booking or need a practice that takes most insurance plans. If testosterone is what you are considering, the practice's own words are worth weighing: In its own words: "Testosterone therapy is not appropriate for every man with symptoms." Ask how that decision is made for you.
