About International Center For Health & Wellness

What is International Center For Health & Wellness?

It is a physician-led practice at 11934 Fairway Lakes Drive, Suite 1, in Fort Myers, Florida. Its main focus is Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), also called mold illness. Its other listed services are Lyme and co-infections, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, environmental toxicity, post Covid syndrome, post vaccine syndrome and hormone imbalance. Hormone therapy appears only as a possible treatment, with no details. In its own words: "we treat the causes of your condition."

Alan Gruning, DO, is the physician and Medical Director. Sara Doyon, APRN, is a nurse practitioner who provides much of the follow-up care for Florida patients who are not on Medicare. The clinic has a 4.7 rating from 40 Google reviews.

Some limits matter before you call. It is not accepting new patients at this time, for a limited time. It also does not take patients who have an attorney or a legal case. Dr. Gruning accepts new telehealth patients only from Florida, Texas, North Carolina and Kansas, where he is licensed. Patients in Ohio, Illinois, Alabama and Minnesota need one annual visit in Fort Myers before telehealth visits can follow. Patients living elsewhere generally must come to the Fort Myers office for each visit. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 11am to 5pm.

What does it cost?

One price is listed: $650 for the first visit with Dr. Gruning, which lasts about an hour. The FAQ also describes a 10 minute free new patient consult, so ask which one applies. It does not publish prices for hormone therapy, follow-up visits or lab work. It does not say whether medication is included in any fee. It takes no insurance. In its own words: "Sorry, we do not participate in any health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid." It does not mention HSA options, financing or membership terms.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the clinic is taking new patients now, and when it expects to again. Ask which first-visit arrangement applies, and whether the $650 is charged. Ask who signs a hormone prescription, Dr. Gruning or Sara Doyon, which hormones are used, and whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. Ask whether hormone therapy requires in-person visits, since the clinic does not say. Ask whether any fee includes medication, and what follow-up visits and saliva and blood tests cost. Sara Doyon usually sees Florida patients every 6 to 8 weeks and Dr. Gruning every 6 months, so ask how that schedule is billed. Finally, ask how to cancel.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you are looking for care for mold illness or the conditions the clinic lists, can get to Fort Myers or live in one of its licensed states, want pastoral counseling as part of your care, and can pay cash. It is not a fit right now if you need an appointment soon or you have an attorney or a legal case. Phone: 239.939.3303.
