What is Love Health?

Love Health is a practice where you pay out of pocket, at 610 Terry Street in Longmont, Colorado, inside the Terry Street Collective. Dr. Noël C. Love leads it and has spent the last 10 years in private practice. Her training includes a doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. The practice is mainly acupuncture and blood testing, with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) as one of its services.

Its BHRT page names estrone, estradiol, estriol, bioidentical progesterone and bioidentical testosterone, and describes hormone pellets placed under the skin. What does it cost?

It does not publish prices for BHRT or for its packages. The packages are Optimal Balance and Ultimate Health, which bundle acupuncture, herbal therapy and blood work. Optimal Balance includes 8 acupuncture treatments and Ultimate Health includes 12. It offers a free 15 minute phone consultation to start, and the first in-person visit is a 90 minute intake.

It accepts HSA, FSA and Health Account Cards, and it can supply a superbill for you to submit for acupuncture. Its payment plan reads: "Blood work fee due on first acupuncture session, monthly payments start following month." It also offers paying in full, and says specials sometimes bring a discount. It does not say whether hormone medication or pellets are included in any price, and it gives no fee for the first in-person visit.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs the hormone prescription. It names Dr. Noël C. Love as the person running the practice, but it does not name a separate licensed prescriber who orders the hormones. Ask whether the monthly fee covers the medication and pellets, and whether the hormones are brand name or compounded, since its BHRT page discusses compounded forms.

Ask what the first visit, the blood work and the follow-up blood work and consults cost, because the packages list follow-up as an additional fee. Ask how a monthly plan ends and how to cancel, which it does not explain. Ask whether telehealth is offered, which it does not say, and confirm the hours, since its posted hours are not consistent.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want acupuncture, herbs, blood testing and hormone therapy under one roof in Longmont, and you are willing to get written answers on who prescribes, what is included and how to cancel before you pay.
