What is Bio-Vital Men's Clinic?
Bio-Vital Men's Clinic is a men's health practice with offices in Santa Rosa and Sacramento. Its main focus is testosterone replacement therapy, and it also offers sexual health care and a weight loss program. Dr. Joshua B. Jefferds, a licensed naturopathic doctor (ND), is the only prescriber the clinic names. He describes over two decades of study and practice in the wellness model of medicine. Phone reception runs Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm at both offices, and in-office visits are by appointment only.
In sexual health, the clinic names Viagra, Cialis and Trimix. It mentions sublingual (under the tongue) medication and Trimix micro injections for men for whom oral pills do not work. For testosterone, it mentions injections, creams and small pellets placed in fatty tissue, but it names no product or dose. The weight loss program centers on nutrition, movement and hormone balance, and it names no weight loss medication.
This listing is for its Sacramento office at 3808 Auburn Blvd #41.
What does it cost?
The clinic publishes one price, for a year of treatment. In its own words: "we will provide a satisfying treatment for around $2,500 over the course of an entire year." It says that covers the medication, follow-up visits, lab testing and any devices you may need. It does not publish a consultation fee, and it does not say which office the price applies to.
Bio-Vital is cash pay only. It is a concierge clinic that does not bill insurers directly. You receive a bill to submit yourself, and any reimbursement depends on your own policy.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which office the $2,500 covers, and whether it applies to all three services. Ask whether it is paid up front, billed monthly or sold as a membership, and how cancellation works. Ask what the consultation costs, and whether the in-office evaluation the clinic requires before treatment is charged separately. Ask whether any part of it can be done by video, since telehealth is not mentioned.
Ask which testosterone product and delivery method you would use, and whether it is brand-name or compounded. Ask who writes the prescription and what training that person holds, since Dr. Jefferds is the only prescriber named. Ask whether lab work and follow-up visits stay covered for as long as your treatment needs them.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are looking into testosterone or sexual health care, can attend in-office visits in Santa Rosa or Sacramento, and are prepared to pay cash for a yearly program with a naturopathic prescriber. It is a weaker fit if you want a medical doctor writing your prescriptions, need video visits, or want a weight loss medication. Google lists the clinic at 4.4 from 12 reviews, under the category reproductive health clinic.
