About Avinity Health
What is Avinity Health?
Avinity Health is a physician-directed clinic at 11000 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 100, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, phone 480-264-6175. It offers health optimization and medical aesthetics under one roof. Most of the menu is aesthetic: Botox, dermal fillers, microneedling, under-eye filler made from plasma, chemical peels and an aesthetic membership, performed by registered nurses. The health services are PlasmaRestore™ (therapeutic plasma exchange), IV and injectable therapies, and testosterone therapy. Google lists it as a medical spa, with a rating of 5 from 23 reviews.
The physicians named on the team are Dr. Leslie F. Thomas, MD (Medical Officer), Dr. Arun Lakshmipathy, MD (Medical Director) and Dr. Salma Jesmin, MD (Medical Consultant). Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and Saturday, 9am to 12pm. It does not offer a weight loss program, and peptide therapy is listed as coming soon.
What does it cost?
Testosterone therapy is the one service with published prices: $199 for the first month and $249 per month after that. That covers the initial consultation, initial labs, testosterone cypionate if prescribed, weekly in-office injections and follow-up monitoring. New patient pricing requires a four-month initial commitment, $946 in total. Adding hCG brings it to $279 for the first month and $329 per month after. The initial consultation is complimentary.
In its own words: "Avinity is a direct-pay clinic and does not bill insurance." HSA and FSA eligibility depends on your plan. Botox is priced by area, but no figure is given, and the price of PlasmaRestore and IV therapy is not stated. The aesthetic membership says "members save 15%," but the monthly fee and cancellation terms are not given.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the testosterone prescription. Your consultation is with a nurse practitioner, and Dr. Arun Lakshmipathy, MD, oversees the protocol, so ask how often a physician reviews your labs and sets your dose. Ask whether the testosterone cypionate is brand-name or compounded. Ask how the hCG decision is made, since it adds $80 a month. Ask what extra testing costs, because tests outside the standard protocol are quoted before they run.
Ask the price of PlasmaRestore, IV therapy and Botox by area, plus the membership fee. Ask whether telehealth is offered, which the clinic does not state. Ask how cancellation works after the four-month commitment.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want physician-overseen testosterone therapy with the monthly price stated up front and can commit to four months. It also suits you if you want nurse-performed aesthetic treatments in a physician-guided setting. If you are looking for weight loss medication or peptide therapy, it does not offer either yet.
