About Trilogy Health

What is Trilogy Health?

Trilogy Health is a beauty, wellness and laser practice in La Mesa, San Diego. Most of what it offers is cosmetic and skin work: Botox and fillers, laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal and body sculpting. Weight loss is one of its services. It does not publish a street address. The phone number is (619) 567-6914, and it has a 4.7 Google rating from 57 reviews.

Dr. Ellyn Levine prescribes the weight loss medications. She has practiced medicine since 1991, and the practice lists an internal medicine certification and former diplomate status with the American Board of Obesity Medicine. The weight loss menu covers semaglutide and tirzepatide, injections taken once a week; the 5 and 1 plan, built on Optavia products; appetite suppressant prescriptions, filled from its in-house pharmacy; and InBody body composition scans. In its own words: "The provider will suggest a personalized program, vitamin injection recommendations and if appropriate, an appetite suppressant medication."

What does it cost?

Semaglutide is $400 a month. That price includes medical evaluation and supervision by Dr. Levine and a four-week supply of the medication. Tirzepatide starts at $425 a month for the initial starting dose, and it does not say what that price covers. A consultation is complimentary.

It does not publish prices for the 5 and 1 plan, which comes as a one-week sampler kit or a four-week supply delivered to the home. It does not publish the price of the optional B12 injections, or of its monthly appetite suppressant plans. It does not publish prices for blood work or the EKG. It does not say whether it bills insurance, and it does not state cancellation terms.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the $425 tirzepatide price includes the same visits and supervision as the semaglutide price, and how many doses it covers. Ask whether Dr. Levine or another provider signs each prescription, and whether follow-up visits and lab work are billed on top of the monthly fee. For the appetite suppressants, ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, since it fills them from its own pharmacy. Ask whether it bills insurance, what the blood work and EKG cost, and how to cancel a monthly plan. Also ask for the street address, office hours, and whether any visits are by video, since it does not publish those.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a physician-run semaglutide or tirzepatide program and you are comfortable at a practice where most of the services are cosmetic. Call first and confirm the street address, the tirzepatide terms and the cancellation policy before you book.
