What is Range?

Range is a cash-pay clinic at 197 Avenida La Pata in San Clemente, California. Its core work is sports medicine and physical therapy, and its first visit is about 60 minutes one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist. In its own words: "Walk in hurting. Walk out with a plan."

Range also offers medical weight loss, hormone therapy, peptide therapy, IV therapy, NAD+ therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, PRP injections, DEXA scans and lab testing. Its weight loss program pairs prescription medication with labs, provider check-ins and follow-up blood work. Range describes all of its medications as compounded. What does it cost?

The weight loss program starts at $399 per month, and that price includes the medication, check-ins and provider support. Hormone care is sold as an HRT Membership at $250 per month. It covers prescribed medications, a monthly IV therapy session, follow-up labs, check-ins and monitoring.

Physical therapy starts with the Range Recovery Evaluation, normally $160 and complimentary for new patients through October 31. Recovery Visits cost $130 each for 1 to 4 visits and $105 each for 30 or more, and your written plan shows the total. The Recovery Modality Membership is $499 every 4 weeks for 8 modality-only sessions, charged to a card on file and auto-renewing until you cancel. You cancel by telling the front desk, and the membership ends at the close of the cycle you have already paid for, with no refunds for that cycle. Single sessions are $75. Range is cash pay, and HSA and FSA cards are welcome.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs the weight loss and hormone prescriptions and what credentials that person holds, since Range does not name them. Ask whether the $399 fee covers every medication and every dose change, and what a higher dose costs. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy prepares it, since Range describes its medications as compounded.

For the HRT Membership, ask which hormone medications are included beyond the listed items. Ask how the weight loss and HRT programs end and whether they can be paused, because Range lists cancellation and pause terms only for the recovery membership.

Range offers peptide therapy but does not describe which peptides it uses or how that program runs. Ask who prescribes them and what they cost.

Finally, ask what the Range Assessment and any extra labs cost, get the total price of a Recovery Visit plan in writing before you agree to it, and ask whether any visit can be done remotely.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you have an injury or pain you want a licensed physical therapist to evaluate first, and you are willing to pay cash and decide on follow-up after you see a written plan and its price. It is a closer match for weight loss or hormone care if you want the answers above in writing before you pay.
