What is Nature & Science Medicine?
Nature & Science Medicine is a naturopathic medical clinic at 531 Encinitas Blvd, Suite 121, Encinitas, CA 92024. Its doctors are licensed naturopathic physicians. Its prescribers are Erin Rhae Biller (ND, FAIHM, ND), Chelsea Smithback (ND, ND) and Nikodemas McNulty (ND, ND, ND). Google lists it as a wellness center, with a rating of 5 from 263 reviews.
Its main work is IV therapy and injections, with nebulizer treatments, PRP, ozone therapy, naturopathic consults, and lab work with blood drawn in the clinic. Of weight loss, hormone therapy, peptide therapy and longevity medicine, it offers hormonal health and peptide therapy. It does not name a weight loss or longevity program. It is open 10am to 5pm, seven days a week, Sundays included.
In its own words: "Peptides are prescribed here, not sold off a shelf." Peptide therapy begins with a 45-minute education and coaching visit with a doctor. Every later change, a dose adjustment or a refill included, gets its own follow-up.
What does it cost?
The IV and injection prices are published. Nutrient IVs start at $185, and the Immune, Energy and Detox formulas start at $225. Glutathione starts at $125, and methylene blue is $985. A glutathione push comes free with every nutrient IV. New patients get a complimentary IV consultation, which is $140 otherwise.
It does not publish prices for peptide therapy, hormonal health, stem cell and exosome therapy, PRP or ozone therapy. It also does not state a consultation fee for peptide or hormone visits. Ask for the figure before you book.
It does not take insurance directly. It accepts HSA and FSA cards and can give you an itemized superbill to submit to your insurer. Payment is due in full at the time of scheduling. It does not state financing, membership terms or a cancellation policy.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which of its doctors would prescribe for you, and whether a peptide product is brand-name or compounded. The clinic does not name the peptide products it uses.
Ask what a full month of peptide care costs, including the medication and each follow-up. The clinic does not say whether the medication is included.
Ask whether hormone support includes hormone replacement such as HRT or TRT. It names thyroid, adrenal and hormone support but not HRT or TRT specifically.
If you want Zofran (ondansetron) or Toradol (ketorolac) added to an IV, ask the price and who decides whether it is appropriate for you.
Ask what lab work costs before the blood is drawn, and whether follow-up visits can be done by video. Telehealth is not mentioned.
Ask how cancellation works, since payment is due when you schedule.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want IV or injection care with published prices, or you are ready for a doctor-led education visit before starting peptides or hormone support, and you can pay with an HSA or FSA card. It is a weaker fit if you need a price for peptides or hormone care before you call, or if you need a clinic that bills insurance directly.
