About TheLIA
What is TheLIA?
TheLIA, short for The Longevity Institute of America, is a cash-pay practice at 1500 Pleasant Valley Way (Suite 203), West Orange, NJ 07052. The phone number is 973-494-5226. Dr. Shreni Zinzuwadia, the founder, is the physician the clinic names as prescriber. The clinic describes her as a physician with more than 20 years of clinical experience, but it does not publish her medical credentials, so ask for them before you book. The practice has a Google rating of 5 from 74 reviews.
Its main services are hormone therapy, medically supervised weight loss, and a longevity program. Hormone therapy covers bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and EvexiPEL hormone pellet therapy. Weight loss has the least detail of the three. The clinic describes it mostly in terms of nutrition, lifestyle, and body composition testing. It says plans may include peptide therapy, supplements, or safe medications if needed, but it names no medication. Peptide therapy appears only in that list of possibilities. The longevity program focuses on inflammation, oxidative stress, hormonal balance, and metabolic health. Alongside these is a long menu of add-ons: InBody scans, Galleri cancer screening, genetic and aging tests, red light therapy, IV therapies, vitamin shots, neurofeedback, and an NAD infusion.
What does it cost?
The clinic does not accept insurance. In its own words: "While we don’t currently accept insurance, we’re happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider." Any reimbursement depends on your plan.
The consultation is $550 and includes initial intake, blood work, and follow-up. A follow-up visit is $250, a limit visit is $150, and an annual exam runs between $250 and $350. Pellet treatment is $450 for a female treatment, $750 for a male treatment, and $875 for a male treatment over 2000mg. Pellet payment is due in full at the time of service. The clinic does not say whether that price includes the pellets themselves. Its menu links to payment plans without describing them. It does not publish prices for bioidentical hormone therapy, weight loss plans, IV therapies, or the other add-ons.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription and what credentials she holds, since none are published. For pellets, ask whether the $450, $750, or $875 includes the hormone, how often treatment is repeated, and what that comes to over a year. For hormone therapy, ask what it costs and whether the hormones are brand-name or compounded. For weight loss, ask which medications, if any, would be used and what monitoring costs. Ask what lab work is needed beyond the $550 consultation and what it costs. Ask whether any visits can be done by video and what hours the office keeps, since neither is listed. Before paying for any add-on, such as Galleri screening, genetic tests, IV therapy, or NAD, ask its price, because none is published. Finally, ask how to cancel and whether a fee applies.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are considering hormone therapy or pellets, can pay in full at the time of service, and want a physician to review your history and labs before any treatment starts. If your main interest is medication-based weight loss, ask the questions above first, because the clinic names no medication.
