About Holistic Solutions

What is Holistic Solutions?

Holistic Solutions is an integrative medicine practice that works mainly through house calls across San Diego County and Orange County. Dr. Joseph Dubroff, N.D., is the doctor who prescribes. The practice names Newport Beach, Mission Viejo, Irvine, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Brea, La Jolla, Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe as towns it serves. It does not publish a street address or office hours. Visits can be at home, by telemedicine or in office.

Its services are regenerative medicine, bioidentical hormones, peptide therapy, medical weight loss, digestive health and integrative general medicine. Its weight loss programs use GLP-1 medication (tirzepatide or semaglutide), an HCG protocol, and a GHRH peptide program with sermorelin, CJC-1295/Ipamorelin or tesamorelin. In its own words on weight loss: "The goal isn't to sell you a program." Its Google listing shows 5 stars from 5 reviews.

What does it cost?

The initial 2-hour visit is $375. Follow-up visits are $175 for one hour or $125 for 30 minutes, and calls on topics already discussed are free. A 30-minute peptide consult to review your history is $60.

GLP-1 weight loss is $150 plus the cost of medicine, so the medication is not included. HCG starts at $550 for the initial program and $450 for return visits. The GHRH peptide program starts at $200 plus medication.

It is cash pay only. The practice is out-of-network and fee-for-service, and it will provide a superbill for possible insurance reimbursement. It does not publish financing, HSA terms, membership fees or cancellation terms.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the $150 GLP-1 fee is charged per visit or per month, since the billing unit is not stated. Ask what the medicine costs on top of it, and whether it is brand-name or compounded. The weight loss FAQ says compounded versions are typically paid out of pocket, so get the full monthly total in writing.

Ask whether Dr. Dubroff personally writes and renews each prescription. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, because labs are listed but not priced. The HCG FAQ says the protocol is off-label for weight loss and not FDA-approved for that use, so ask how that is explained before you start. Finally, ask where in-office visits happen and how cancellation works.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a doctor who comes to your home or sees you by video, you plan to pay cash, and you are comfortable with a naturopathic doctor as your prescriber. It may not suit you if you need a published street address or posted medication prices, or if you want a membership contract before you call.
