About Largo Clinic

What is Largo Clinic?

Largo Clinic is a physician owned private medical practice at 10900 Seminole Boulevard, Largo, FL 33778. The phone number is (727) 517-1500. Most of what it does is everyday medicine. It accepts walk-in patients as well as traditional primary care patients, and it lists minor medical emergencies, lacerations and sutures, ear infections, high blood pressure, thyroid care and school physicals. Its Google listing shows a 4.3 rating from 158 reviews.

Two of its services fall in the weight loss and hormone therapy category. The weight loss program, called Six Weeks to Success, is sold as one all-inclusive package: an initial assessment with EKG, blood work and body fat measurements, vitamins and medications, B12 injections, and six weeks of support. The medications it names are HCG, Lipo B Ulta and Calcium Pyruvate. For hormone therapy, it offers BioTE pellets, which it describes as custom-compounded. In its own words: "The pellet therapy that BioTE trains on uses hormones that are bioidentical to those found in the human body." It also runs a Suboxone program for opioid dependence. It does not name a prescribing physician with credentials.

What does it cost?

The Suboxone program is $199. Membership is sold as a yearly plan. Silver is $1250 per year, $999 if paid in full upfront, or $125 monthly, with unlimited visits and one annual lab and EKG. Gold is $1500 per year, $1399 if paid in full upfront, or $150 monthly, with unlimited visits, unlimited labs and EKG, free shots and free office medications. A corporate or family plan is quoted on request. The membership description also mentions a one-time fee with no amount, so ask how it fits with the yearly price.

It does not publish prices for weight loss or BioTE hormone therapy. The weight loss package is described as one low price that covers medications, but the price itself is not given. It does not state a consultation fee, and it does not say whether medication is included in any BioTE price. Cancellation terms are not given.

On insurance, it says it does not accept insurance and is not locked into any contracts. Elsewhere it says it accepts Traditional Medicare and cash patients, and it says it takes most insurances. Those statements do not agree, so ask which one applies.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who prescribes, by name and credentials, and who you will see at each visit. For the $199 Suboxone price, ask whether it covers the first office visit, the induction, counseling and follow-up. Its Suboxone information says it offers both Suboxone and Bunavail, so ask which one you would receive. For weight loss, ask whether the one low price covers the lab work, the EKG and the follow-up visits, and what the full six-week total comes to. For BioTE, ask who compounds the pellets, whether a pharmacy or a brand-name source supplies them, and what they cost, including any consultation fee. For membership, ask how the one-time fee relates to the yearly price and how cancellation works. Finally, ask which insurance plans it bills, whether it offers telehealth, and what its hours are. None of these answers are published.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you live in Largo, Clearwater, Seminole, Indian Rocks, Pinellas Park or the wider Tampa Bay area, need walk-in care for everyday problems, and are ready to get the prescriber's name, the full price and the cancellation terms in writing before you pay for a weight loss or hormone program. It is a poor fit if you need a published price before you call, since weight loss and BioTE prices are not published.
