About South Denver OB/GYN & Midwives

What is South Denver OB/GYN & Midwives?

South Denver OB/GYN & Midwives is a women's health practice with offices in Littleton and Castle Rock, Colorado. It is a division of OnPoint Medical Group. Its main work is obstetrics, gynecology and midwifery. Listed services include annual exams, birth control, perimenopause and menopause care, STI testing, family planning, pregnancy testing, gynecological problems and surgery, and urinary incontinence. Midwives attend births at Littleton Adventist Hospital and Castle Rock Adventist Hospital. The practice is accepting new patients and also serves Parker, Lone Tree and the Denver metro area.

Two offerings sit outside that core. The first is a weight loss program built on GLP-1 medication. In its own words: "medically supervised weight loss regimen with GLP-1." Its providers for weight loss are Scot C. Graham, M.D., Kimberly VanScriver, M.D., Neal Trulock, D.O., Cynthia "Redd" Rogers, CNP, PNNP, Wendy Vigil, MS, CNM, WHNP-BC, and Caitlan Talamas, MS, APRN-BC, CNM. The second is bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), offered through a relationship with rebalance biohealth & BioTE® Medical for women and men. The practice describes a pellet method for it, but no prescriber is named for that service.

Office hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm, and the main phone number is 303-738-1100.

What does it cost?

It does not publish prices for weight loss, hormone therapy or visits, and it does not give a consultation fee. The weight loss page asks people to call and schedule a weight loss consultation, so that call is the route to a quote.

The practice accepts most insurance plans, and its list includes Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna/Great West, Humana and Medicare. Participation can vary by plan within a provider. Colorado Health Op orange cards are not accepted, but blue cards are. It does not say whether the weight loss program or hormone therapy is billed to insurance or paid in cash, whether a fee includes medication, or whether financing, HSA use or a membership term applies.

The hormone therapy page also describes EPAT, a treatment using acoustic pressure waves, and says patients often choose it even without insurance coverage. No price is given for it.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who writes the hormone therapy prescription, since no prescriber is named for that service. For weight loss, ask which GLP-1 medication is used, whether any fee includes it, and whether the drug is brand-name or compounded.

Ask what the consultation costs and whether your plan covers it. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, and how often they are required for the ongoing monitoring the weight loss page describes. The services menu lists Virtual Care, but it does not say whether weight loss or hormone visits can be done by video, so ask. Finally, ask how you cancel or pause either program, and whether either one carries a term you must commit to.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want weight loss or hormone care from a practice that also handles gynecology, birth control or midwifery, and you live near Littleton, Castle Rock, Parker, Lone Tree or Denver. It is a weaker fit if you need a published price before you call, or if you need video visits, since those are not clearly offered.
