What is Skin Reset Lab?
Skin Reset Lab is a skin clinic and med spa at 2411 Santa Clara Ave., Alameda, CA 94501. Google lists it as a medical spa and it has a 5 rating from 37 reviews. Its services are signature facials, peels and resurfacing, regenerative aesthetics, hair loss treatments, functional skin wellness, consultations and diagnostics, and advanced aesthetics. It also runs a skin wellness program with coaching and supplements. Founder Ezarah Borchardt has over 20 years in the health and beauty industry.
Hormone optimization and longevity appear only in the team section. The team is listed across health and wellness, aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery, functional and integrative medicine, and hormone optimization. No hormone therapy, weight loss, peptide or longevity treatment is named among its services. Michael Setareh, MD, is the only prescriber it names, as Medical Director, and he is based in Orange County, California. In its own words: "We start with diagnostics, skin imaging, and stress mapping" before any plan is built.
What does it cost?
The clearest prices are for the Skin Wellness Program. Essential is $1,600 in full or $550 a month for 3 months. Core is $2,900 in full or $500 a month for 6 months. The 12-month tier is $5,300 in full or $450 a month. These prices leave out in-office treatments, which are priced separately, such as LED light therapy at $40 a session. Monthly payments are split evenly with no interest. It does not publish a base price for its facials, peels or hair loss treatments, and it does not state a consultation fee.
Booking requires a 25-50% deposit once the appointment is confirmed. The deposit is refunded only if you cancel 48 hours in advance. Arriving more than 15 minutes late brings a late fee. It lists cash, e-wallets, bank transfer, and credit and debit cards as payment methods. It does not say whether it bills insurance, so ask.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether Michael Setareh, MD, sees patients at the Alameda office, since it does not say. Ask who would prescribe anything beyond skincare, because no hormone treatment is named among its services. Ask whether the tier price includes the supplements and skincare for later months, and what a refill costs. Ask whether the lab tests are included, since Essential lists functional labs and the higher tiers add retests. Ask what happens to your payments if you stop partway through a monthly plan, because it does not publish a refund policy for the program.
Ask whether follow-up by WhatsApp is included and whether any visit can be done by video. Confirm the phone number, since the contact page shows 415.697.6145 and the program page shows 415.697.4165. Ask which days you can book, because the hours are listed as by appointment only, with weekday and Saturday hours also given.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want facials, peels, hair loss treatment or a skin program with coaching, and you are comfortable asking the billing and prescribing questions before you pay. It is a weaker fit if you came for hormone therapy, weight loss or peptides, since none of those is named as a treatment here. For that, a call to confirm what is offered is worth making first.
