About Method Health

What is Method Health?

Method Health is a doctor-led practice for hormone care, testosterone therapy and GLP-1 weight loss treatment. It says it provides men, women, and children with physician-directed programs, and care is offered online or in person. Its listed services are testosterone therapy, hormone optimization, weight loss, sexual health, supplements and menopause. The medications it names are testosterone, NAD+ and methylene blue. It also sells vitamins and offers a DNA test for methylation.

Three clinicians are named: Tom Macek, MD, listed as Medical Director, Lori A. Jesberger, APRN, and Brian Jakes, Jr. It mentions its own Method Health Clinics but does not publish a street address for any of them. In its own words: "Have your blood drawn by a licensed phlebotomist at one of our Method Health Clinics or, conveniently, in the comfort of your home, wherever you may live." Google shows a 4.9 rating from 42 reviews and files the business under weight loss service.

What does it cost?

It lists one monthly price for hormone care: $149 per month for its testosterone program. It does not say what that fee covers, including whether the medication is part of it. NAD+ is listed as a 10ML vial for $199. It does not publish prices for its GLP-1 weight loss program or a consultation fee. A typical consultation takes about 1 hour.

On insurance, it says: "We are a private pay facility." It also says labwork is usually covered by health insurance, and that Flex Spending Accounts can be used for these services. It does not publish membership terms or a cancellation policy.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs your prescription and how often you will see that clinician. Ask whether the $149 monthly testosterone fee includes the medication, and whether the GLP-1 program has a price at all. If it offers GLP-1 medication, ask whether it is brand-name or compounded, and what it costs each month.

Ask what lab work costs, how often it is repeated, and which parts your insurance might cover. Ask which states it treats patients in by telehealth, and whether there is a clinic near you. Finally, ask how to cancel and whether any membership fee applies.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want doctor-led hormone or weight loss care, can pay out of pocket, and want the medication and the monthly fee explained before you book. If you need in-person visits, call first, since no street address is published.
